~~ There was a small crowd standing in front of this car, all with their
phones held up, taking pictures.  I had to get in on the action!! ~~

What I like, or one of the things I like, about motoring is the sense it gives one of lighting accidentally, like a voyager who touches another planet with the tip of his toe, upon scenes which would have gone on, have always gone on, will go on, unrecorded, save for this chance glimpse. Then it seems to me I am allowed to see the heart of the world uncovered for a moment.
~~ Virginia Woolf

  1. This makes me think of New Year's Eve on Colorado Blvd. in my youth. Loved looking at the cars and the party atmosphere. Cute caption about getting in on the action, Adele.

  2. lol at you having to get in on the action :D it sure is a shiny car!

  3. So bright, like candy! I wonder what she would've thought of modern day flights, which have become so common place.

  4. Great looking car and a wonderful post.

  5. I'm glad you guys liked it as much as I did. You should have seen the crowd. I thought the owner of the car was in the crowd, showing it to his friends. It was just a bunch of strangers, enjoying it. One guy said, "If you park a car like that out in public, you have to assume people will take pictures of it!"

  6. Doesn't look like the original color. I have a brunch of pics of old cars caught in the area. I rarely post them, maybe cuz I rarely post!
I had to reread Woolf's quote a few times to get the impact of it. Perhaps someone will rewrite it to give it more immediate impact.

    1. No, I wouldn't think it's the original color. You should do an old-car post! It would be fun to see them.

I liked how the meaning didn't pop right out. It kind of unfolded!

Comments are welcomed and most appreciated. When I win a million-dollar lottery, I will think of you first!
