Toilet Paper!

Well, I'm no detective, but it looks like what has happened here is the good, old-fashioned American tradition known as Having One's Home Toilet Papered, or TP'd.

This particular event was the result of an 11-year-old's birthday/slumber party.  In an interesting twist, when the girls came back from TP'ing another friend's house (where a brother was kind enough to jump out of the bushes at them - classic!), they were greeted with this display at their own home.

I spent many happy hours of my youth partaking in this particular activity, and my house spent many happy hours being TP'd as well.  It's a fun rite of passage, that I'm glad I was able to enjoy, and am pleased to see that it still happens, at least now and again.

  2. Oh my gosh! I really doubt you will ever see this in England (I stand corrected if I am wrong). Toilet paper costs a fortune and gaps in the rainy weather would never permit such a great display as you show in your photo. Love it!

    1. That's true! The wet weather would make it problematic. :-)

  4. Haha, I still remember doing this up until the embarrassingly older age of, er, twenty-something in college!:) Lovely walk down memory lane, Adele, thank you!

    1. That's fun, Lulu! I think I was up there a bit when I stopped, too. With just the right amount of friends, the retaliations can go on endlessly!

  5. The doing was always more fun than the cleaning up...except for the knowledge that by virtue of having had it done to you...you had reached a certain status of the Jr/Sr High School status structure!!!

    1. Well, I did see the mom out there cleaning up, later in the day, but I'm told everyone had a great time at the party, including the adults who helped to make it a success :-)

    1. Thanks! My poor husband gets tired of the constant stopping when he walks with me, but how could I pass up a good one like this? :)
