Golden Pink

A beautiful sunset that was mistaken for a dawn.

I took this photo early in the month (a few moments after taking the photo of yesterday's lamp).  Sometimes we just get the most amazing sunsets.  You round a corner and POW, there it is.  We've had quite a few like this lately.  I think of them as Golden Pink, but I'm not sure if that color combination exists.  Rose Gold - Is that more accurate?  What would you call this color?

    1. Wow! That looks just like it. Amazing... The "iridescent" part does the trick. You are an excellent Googler, KBF!

  3. I like pink apricot:) I used to have a faint apricot tinge in my white bedroom wall paint and it picked up the color of some crazy curtains, which had this shade in it! Beautiful photo.

    1. I'm becoming partial to that one myself! I almost bought a rose gold watch recently, but I decided it was too risky! :)

  6. The mountains in Altadena light up this color in the evening, if we're lucky. Just for a few magical moments. In Switzerland the snow-capped Alps go pink at sunset too - it's called Alpen glueh, Alp-glow, so that's what I call the San Gabriel evening light show.

    1. A few magical moments truly sums it up, Bellis. I love that name for our light show. Very poetic...

  9. Oh my gosh you got it. I have never managed it. Folks who don't live here don't believe me. But every evening, just for a few moments, we have this. Thank you, Adele.

    1. Thank you, Petrea. I have tried and tried and never seem to be able to catch it. This particular day it was so over-the-top beautiful, it was a no brainer. Very brief, but still impossible to miss.

  10. Yes, I know people, such as a couple of Altadenan's, who live for this moment toward the end of the day.
You caught it, although it looks more purple than pink in my monitor. So, I'll just coin it something like, uh, purple mountains majesty.
