Santa Claws

A friend and I were out walking yesterday, and went to see these Santa hats that are adorning a beautiful group of cacti.  Imagine my surprise when this sweet kitty popped up out of nowhere, demanding asking for a little pet.  (Seriously.  He popped up.  I almost dropped my camera.)  In a classic quid-pro-quo, I scruffled his fur for a moment, and then he* kindly posed for my photo.  We are now BFF's.

I'm curious about what he's thinking in this shot.  It might be something like, "Boy, if I had opposable thumbs, I'd be wearing a cool hat, rather than those cacti.  I'd look awesome.  Besides, you can't even pet those guys!"  Or maybe, "Wait.  I hear something.  Is that the can opener?"

(*Although the kitty and I did not discuss gender I am, somehow, convinced he was a he.)

  1. That is one CUTE photo! You captured the Christmas Tree and a Santa Hat as in place of a wreath on the front door! The Handsome Cat just needs a Red Collar with a tassel of an Santa Hat! When I was YOUNG--I had a handsome cat that looked much like SANTA CLAWS~

  3. He's soo cute! (Much sweeter-looking than our neighborhood expert starer:) I bet he's also thinking: I'll show her my good side, haha. I love the cacti wearing Santa hats, what will they think of next, eh?
