Scary Things

Halloween is approaching and the scary/fun atmosphere is building around town.  Everyone I know under the age of twelve can talk of nothing except what costume they will be wearing for trick-or-treating next week.

See the spooky guy in the background?  He was blowing westward in the breezy weather we were having on Wednesday night.  It's Santa Ana Winds season (my least favorite part of fall).  Last year, on December 1, we had a huge windstorm that caused millions of dollars of damage, and power outages, not to mention a lot of jangled nerves in our town and much of the rest of the area.

Hopefully, the Santa Anas that are hanging around this week will try not to scare us too much, and our nerves will be reserved for things that go Boo in the night.

  1. Beautiful house (not too sure about the residents though...ha ha). I love those Santa Ana winds too but since you and Petrea have mentioned the damage of falling branches, I worry a little. You take care when you are out and about!

    1. Ha! Yes - the residents seem frightening! And thank you. The winds are definitely a time for caution.

  2. Oh, those are spooky! I remember the wind storm all too well. It was terrifying and I was without power for 4 days and nights. Let's hope we don't have a repeat of that this year.

    1. Oh, me too! We got ours back just before the 4th night. I wimpily evacuated to my parents! (Took Spencer along, too).

  3. I'd rather not have another storm like that one, thank you very much! But that's a once-in-a-lifetime occurrence, I think.

    1. I hope you're right. I definitely admit to being skittish!

Comments are welcomed and most appreciated. When I win a million-dollar lottery, I will think of you first!
