Scarecrow Festival: Frankenweenie

Well, look at that!  More Hollywood Stars in Sierra Madre!  This time, it's Sparky and friends, from Tim Burton's new movie, Frankenweenie.  Here's a brief synopsis of the film:

After unexpectedly losing his beloved dog Sparky, young Victor harnesses the power of science to bring his best friend back to life -- with just a few minor adjustments...

The black and white film, with a cast including the voices of Charlie Tahan, Catherine O'Hara, Two Martins (Short and Landau) and a Winona (Ryder), looks like a lot of fun.  The actors will have to go a long way, though, to beat the Fun Factor of the Scarecrow Cast.

    1. I'm thinking I might need to see this one! I haven't seen Nightmare Before Christmas, either, and it is showing at a Disney-owned theater soon.

  2. Tim Burton fans should go find the original, which should be easy to find online. It got him fired from Disney in 1984 because "he had wasted company resources" and "the film was too scary for young audiences." And guess who's distributing it now that he's a Big Name?

  3. Haha, they did a great job with this set-up! I like Catherine O'Hara in almost anything (and have enjoyed many a Burton movie), this sounds like a must-see!

(Also, so cool your brother and sister-in-law are teaching themselves the ukulele! And way over across the globe! It's a very fun activity:)

    1. They really did do a great job - very realistic! You'll have to report back, if you see the movie.

(It really is fun. They played You Are My Sunshine for my dad, in the rest home where he lives. They were a hit!)

    1. I'm going to give it a try. But, since I haven't seen even one movie this year, I'm sure my trying will come to naught!
