Walking (by) the Dog(s)

Look at these two.  Aren't they the best?  The guy on the right is wagging his tail so hard the camera couldn't keep up.  I know how these things go, though.  I look harmless enough, so I'm okay (and I've walked by dozens of times and have never tried to go in the gate), but if I was bothering their family, they wouldn't be looking quite so happy.  Good job, pups!!

Here's a Dog Fun Fact I read on the interwebs:

A dog can hear sounds 250 yards away that most people cannot hear beyond 25 yards. The human ear can detect sound waves vibrating at frequencies up to 20,000 times a second. But dogs can hear sound waves that vibrate at frequencies of more than 30,000 times a second.

(...and they can hear the refrigerator opening, or a can opener starting up, from two blocks away.  It's a little-known fact.  :)

  1. Heck, my cat's hearing is real good too... From upstairs she can barrel down when she hears her treat container being opened, also she can recognize the coffee maker starting up and figure she will get a treat- since that her timing of getting one, happened to be when I started to coffee!... Our 4 legged friends have one track minds!. BTW, I love your two friends there- very friendly, indeed!.

    1. Oh... There is nothing like happy dogs at the dog beach. We used to babysit a white lab, and she would bark at all the other dogs on the way there. We think she was yelling, "Check me out - I'm going to the dog beach!!!! I'm so excited!!" :)

  5. As you know....my two little ones bark at the door when someone is near. You would think they are big dogs like these beautiful guys! An aside...I love that gate ... beautiful.

    1. Your little beauties do bark - I feel important! :) Isn't that a beautiful gate? I didn't notice it much (for all the barking) until I went to post it.

    1. I can corroborate. Yesterday I posted a bunch of local events I thought people would be interested in, along with a nice picture of arched doorways on the side of Madison school. 7 comments total, all day.

Today, a picture of Boz at the beach. 7 comments by 8am.

    2. You guys are wise about using Dog Marketing to up your readership! I guess it's just easier to comment with a "Awwwwww - isn't he cute!" than "Hmmm - this is very thought provoking. I shall ponder this throughout my day." But that doesn't mean that people aren't reading those meatier posts, and taking it in. BTW, I absolutely loved the doorway photo, and am not even sure why I didn't comment. Will fix that right now!

    3. You don't have to comment. You never have to comment. We're all so busy. I only comment if I feel the need to.
