Sierra Madre Thai

This is our favorite Thai restaurant, Sierra Madre Thai.  I've mentioned it once before, as it is right next door to the Sierra Madre Playhouse

Although they have great lunch specials, we tend to go in the evening, and the food is always scrumptious (a word I don't toss around lightly!).  It's run by a very nice family, and no matter when you come in, they are happy to see you.

Often, it doesn't seem busy, which used to make me worry for them, but it seems that they do a brisk take-out business.  But just in case, I think we should all eat there more often.  I aim to do my part, ASAP.

  1. Yum, I do love Thai food and it's nice to know I'm not the only one tries to boost beloved businesses by patronizing them as much as possible :) Love this outdoor shot & the colors.

  2. I was on Skype this afternoon with a friend from Pasadena who works in Sierra Madre. I told her about your blog and mentioned this photo of yours today....she has eaten there and loves it. I'll ask her to go there more often :)

  3. When I was living in Glendale, I'd truck on over to Sierra Madre every now and then for lunch...never got to this spot!!! Looks charming!

    1. It is cute. In a former (but still Thai) life, it had a different name - Phuket Thai. Glendale to SM is not too much of a truck, really. I head the other way sometimes, too.

  5. I'm in need of Thai options. How is their coconut soup?

    1. Good question - I'll have to check that out. One thing about them that is good/bad. They don't have any alcohol on the menu, which sends some people packing. BUT, you are allowed to BYO there, which brings me right in! A lot of people just stop at The Bottle Shop across the street, and bring in a bottle of wine.
