Relaxin' and Book Readin'

This guy has a great job.  He sits around all day, reading books.  Occasionally he has to accept the mail and, later in the day, give it up.  Except on Sundays.  He gets to read, uninterrupted, on Sundays.

Speaking of uninterrupted reading time, I've just come back from a mini-vacation with a friend.  It is an annual tradition, where we have but one goal in mind, which is to have a day much like the one pictured above.  Mission Accomplished!

I hope you all find a bit of relaxation in your day today.

    1. I thought so, too. The whole property is nice, but I love this touch.

  2. I was a real tomboy when I was a kid and sitting in trees was one of my favorite things to do often with a book. I love this sculpture. It depicts a perfect summer day. Glad you had a successful mini-vacation.

    1. Oh Bayside, I envy you. I was most definitely not a tomboy, and a statue of me would have depicted me in a heap on the ground at the base of the tree! But, it really was a nice getaway.

    1. I've had the same experience, Robert. As a kid, I spent a lot of time hoping my parents wouldn't wake up and notice that I was still awake, reading. :) Happy Thursday!

  5. Wait: You sat in a tree all day? Or delivered mail? I'm confused...

    1. No, no! We sat in a tree all day, reading other people's mail! To be accurate, though, we each got our own tree. Also, we didn't have a dog with us.

  6. Love this guy!!! I'd say I want one, but we don't have street side mail service up here so he would just get buried in the snow and get clobbered by snow plows...
